Standing Firm for Truth

Nov 30, 2025    Pastor John Guillory

In a world saturated with deception and compromise, we're challenged to examine what we truly stand for. Drawing from 3 John, we discover that the Apostle John greatly rejoiced when he heard that believers were not just knowing the truth, but walking in it. This distinction is crucial—many of us can quote Scripture, attend church, and call ourselves Christians, but the real question is whether we're living out God's Word in our daily lives. The message confronts us with an uncomfortable reality: a spirit of deception is sweeping across our nation and infiltrating churches, subtly redefining truth to accommodate cultural trends and personal preferences. From transgenderism to watered-down grace without repentance, false doctrines are leading many astray. Yet God's Word remains unchangeable. We're reminded that standing firm for truth doesn't mean being argumentative or hateful toward people—we love everyone—but it does mean we cannot compromise on what Scripture clearly teaches. The challenge before us is simple yet profound: Will we have the boldness to live and speak God's truth in our homes, workplaces, and communities? Will we be found faithful when Christ returns, or will we be among those who've been slowly deceived like the proverbial frog in boiling water? Our eternal destiny depends on choosing God's truth over our own comfort.
